Career Lessons From Techn9ne and Lady Gaga

I love studying the lives of contrarians who have achieved their massive success by stepping out of the ordinary. Two of my favorites are music legends Lady Gaga and Techn9ne. Here are three lessons from them that we can all take to heart in terms of building our own careers.
1. Be Confident: These two uber successful entertainers demonstrate an immense amount of swagger in the work and their life. And they could care less in terms of those who view their antics as a bit strange. They recognize that a confident “thick skin” is necessary for playing at the top of one’s game.
2. Be YOU!: What you see is what you get when it comes to Tech and Lady. We would all be wise to follow suit by acknowledging who we are, who we’re not, and who we hope to become regardless of the good opinions of others.
3. Be Unique: As my late mother used to say, “the real winners in life are those who dare to be a little different.” So play to your strengths and say the hell with your weaknesses.
